The Legend of Ajibarang
In the days before the arrival of the colonial Dutch East
Indies, this area has been placed and it is known as an area
which is near with the Duchy of Pakis Aji. The Duchy of Pakis
Aji is the neighbour of Pasir Luhur Duchy .
At the time, the popular regent was Raden Adipati Harya
Taman. He was son daughter in law of adipati Pasir Luhur. Once day, there was a
young prince who came to Kadipaten Pakis Aji. He was from Java, and he wanted
to propose one of Adipati Harya Taman's daughter named Dewi Rantansari. Then, Adipati
Harya Taman accepted it directly, but his daughter refused it and she left her
house.
In the next day, the
young prince and his bodyguard were looking for Dewi Rantansari. In the trip,
their supplies had finished. So, the prince ordered the bodyguard to ask some
water to the citizen. But, they did not give the water. Then, the prince got
angry, and he said “
Ajining banyu ajining barang”. After that, the place is known with Ajibarang
until now.
